Dr. Oetker Ristorante Funghi

We have been keeping a log of some of the different frozen pizzas eaten at home during the last several months.

Second one for review is a Dr Oetker Ristorante series of thing crust pizzas.

The pizza is vacuum sealed in a rather thick plastic bag.  Again, Dr Oetker was very generous with the main toppings. In this case, lots and lots of mushrooms.

All our pizzas are cooked in a conventional convection Black and Decker table top oven at 400 degrees F.  Normally we cook for 10 minutes, then we spin the pizza around  to ensure equal cooking for another 6-7 minutes.

The result on this one was just about perfect and was not overcooked like the last Dr Oetker ham and pineapple.  Despite being thin crust, it was unlike cardboard and had a nice fluffy crunch to it.  Because of the mushrooms, there was a bit of moisture that remained around the cheese but it was not too bothersome.

Again, Dr. Oetker did exceptionally well with the crust without having any cardboard feel to it.  Since this was a meatless pizza, there was a lot less oil hovering around on top of the pizza.  Price wise, you can find it for under $5 at local supermarkets when on sale.

SFDD gives 4.5 out of 5 Delights.
